Friends of Mercy - March Talk Speaker: William Ermatinger
Topic: Anger: Good - Rage: Bad
People are generally afraid of anger, both their own and that of others, but anger evolved as a
protective/defensive emotion. It is a good thing and civilized humans suppress it at their peril.
Bill Ermatinger will be discussing ways we can appropriately discharge our anger and what
happens if we do not. Also discussed will be why we sometimes display our anger inappropriately and who the target(s) might be.

HISTORY :
In the spring of 2001, the D.C. Divas began its women’s tackle football debut as a team in the National Women’s Football Association (NWFA). The D.C. Divas players are women from all types of professions (doctors, lawyers, police officers, teachers, engineers, mechanics, etc.) with various athletic backgrounds (rugby players, flag football players, divers, swimmers, runners, volleyball players, etc).
In 2006, the D.C. Divas had the best season in its history winning the 2006 NWFA World Championship. It was the first season that the Divas played all its home games in their new home, the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex. The new field has excellent access and parking for fans as well as superior locker rooms for the teams. During the regular season the Divas went 8-0. The full roster of 67 players was the largest in women’s football, though by NWFA rules only 55 could dress for any game.
The D.C. Divas left the NWFA for the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL) in late 2006. They will play their first season with the IWFL in 2007.
